Is the grammar of this sentence right?

It didn't have a head but a greeny jelly like body.
or should I say......but it had a green jelly like body.

you should have say...."but it has a green jelly like body."
because...
1] it doesnt even sound right...i mean...it sounds werid~~
2] you wont say a greeny jelly...you can only say a green jelly...
3] there are actually no point of saying greeny jelly instead of green jelly.

I think the grammar of this sentence is right. " it has" can be omitted after "but". The idea that it had a greeny jelly like body is already very clear even though there is no any "it has". Of course, you can also add "it had" after "but", but obviously it should not be "it has" .

also, there is a word "greeny" in Yahoo dictionary means呈綠色的,also, it should be greeny jelly-like body but not greeny jelly like body.
