Conditional sentence:
type 0: (facts) [If (present tense), (present tense)]
example: If we boil water, it becomes steam.
type 1: (indeterminate = unsure) [If (present tense), (future tense)]
example: If it rains, we will not go out.
tpye 2: (contrary to present fact = not real now) [If (subjunctive past tense), [would/should/could/might + base form verb]
example: If I were rich, I would buy a big house. (= I am not rich, so I do not buy a big house)
type 3: (contrary to past fact = not real in the past) [If (subjunctive past perfect tense), (would/should/could/might + have + past participle)]
example: If I had been rich, I wouldhave bought a big house. (= I was not rich in the past, so I did not buy a house)
