1.15y=1380
y=1200
The percantage decrease in Jack's share:
180/4800*100%
=3.75%
Ans:The percantage decrease in Jack's share is 3.75%.

3a.
$19800*2-[$19800*(1+10%)+$19800*(1-10%)]

2.
Jane's share = $1,380/(1 + 15%) = $1,200
Jack's share = $6,000 - $1,200 = $ 4,800

The money Jack gives Jane = $1,380 - $1,200 = $180

% decrease in Jack's share = 180/4800 = 3.75%

3.
Cost of the profit machine = $19,800/(1 + 10%) = $18,000
Cost of the loss machine = $19,800/(1 - 10%) = $22,000

Total cost of the two machines = $18,000 + $22,000 = $40,000
Total selling = $19,800 x 2 = $39,600

(a) Therefore his loss = $40,000 - $39,600 = $400

(b) His loss % = 400/40000 = 1%
