Does an avatar affect your perception of a person?

In one way or another, people do judge somewhat by a person's avatar.

It could be subconscious or it could be on purpose.

For serious questions, the person who picks "Best Answer" often makes the right choice, but for questions that are for fun such as the ones in Polls & Surveys, a larger number of people choose their "Best Answer" depending on which person has a hot avatar. (It's not always the case, but it happend fuequently.)

As for me, I know better.

I've seen plenty of questions where the person even admitted to choosing the person's answer as "Best Answer" because they had an attractive avatar. It happened to me a couple times (before I changed my avatar to a giraffe . lol).

For the most part, the "popular" people on Yahoo Answers, who have attractive pictures for their avatar, often recieve more thumbs up, stars, and "fans".

Absolutely. I prefer to not post a pic - due to maintaining 'some' small privacy on the Internet.

I look at you r pic and I see you are thoughtful, and serious. However, I wish you'd consider a pic that smiling - this one, as lovely as it is, seems little "blue", both visually and metaphorically.

Pretty has nothing to do with spirit, obviously, but you should let your light out to others...

Yes Like why can't people Just be Honest and Have their own photo instead of some movie stars picture es specially why do the women do it so much surly they know that they are just as good as those so called movie stars or models!

but when I've had some of my dancing pics up then the response is very different, a lot more answers and weird comments xx

So people do judge you by your avatars...

Sometimes.
I usually judge by answers though.

Not really. I mostly look at their answers.
