I agree. And when they come forward, arrest and deport them.

i don't think they will just leave because they run out of cash. plus they live 5or8 in one 2 bedroom apartment so they save money. its one big joke and a slap in the face to the American people who do things the right way. give me a get out of jail free card and some free health care like they get and I'll agree

If you are here illegally you should not be issued ANYTHING except a one way ticket home which will be billed to your home country! The police force should be increased in size and trained in immigration so that when they pull over a car with expired mexican plates and no insurance the driver and passengers may be detained and DEPORTED!

We don't need an ID for illegals. That is just the first step in making them legitimate. Sorry, but no Id's for illegals. They want an ID.....come here the legal way.

First most illegals would not sign up for anything that show their status as illegal. And why should they when they have buy all the fake or stolen documents they can need. The feds can not even locate those with criminal violent arrest warrants, what makes you thing they are going to look for those who have broken our laws, but remain in the shadows to the tune of 12-25 million. Most illegal have little or no saving so the chances they will self deport are slim and done.

I agree. Illegals should not be allowed to drive or work.
Did you know that if an illegal Woman gets pregnant and needs a Dr. that she is eligible for WIC,Food Stamps and Medicaid?
Where if my daughter gets pregnant I have to pay? And I should be Responsible for her, I am just saying.....is this fair????

Disagree:

- Most illegals will see it as a ploy to get them to come out and register as illegals.

- The tax payer will have to fund a system that will, on face value, benefit those who pay no taxes and are fundamentally criminals.

- Society itself gains no benefit from this and yet it is society that must flip the bill for it.

- It will only lead to further concessions given to illegals, before you know it they will have more 'rights' than legals.

- It will only fuel to polarize the population into two camps, legals vs illegals and their legal supporters. Such polarization is never good for a nation.

The answer to illegal aliens is simple, find them and deport them. Furthermore, prevent them as best as possible from entering the nation in the first place.

That being said, I am not for some large scale sweeping of the nation in search of illegals, that would cost far too much money and would be far too likely to breed corruption.

Just one question. How are we going to get the illegals to agree to this? Why would they come forward to get an ID if the Feds could find them and deport them? O.K. I guess that is two questions.

Okay, the illegals who cause troubles in America SHOULD go back to their countries and do whatever they want there and never come back to America ever in their life. And for those of hardworking illegals who are here to survive and actually contributing to the Anerican ecomonics should be allowed to stay and be given chances to be part of the society. Hey, once you or your ancestors were immigrants too. The difference was back then there were no terms of legal and illegal.

I am "for" deportation of illegal aliens.
