In a plane,4% of the seats are frist class,16% are business class and the rest are economy class.there are 240 economy class seats.(total number of seat in the plane is 300 and number of frist class seats in the plane is12)Now, if 20 economy class seats are removed , what percentage of the seats are frist class?

If 20 economy class seats are removed, the remaining seats for all classes will be 300- 20 = 280.So the percentage of seats of the first class will be 12/280 X 100%
= 4.2857%

The total number of seats in a plane after 20 economy class seats are removed is:
300 - 20 = 280 seats.
The percentage of the seats which are first class is: 12 / 280 *100% = 4.2857%

Remarks:
Total number of seat in the plane is 240 / ( 100% - 4% - 16% ) = 240 / 0.8 = 300 seats
