(i)2x-y = 162x-y = 24
x﹣y = 4
x = y+4
(ii)Do you mean 2x+y = 2 ??
x = y+4 ---(1)
2x+y = 2
x+y = 1 ---(2)
Put (1) into (2),
y+4+y = 1
2y+4 = 1
2y = -3
y = -3/2 ---(3)
Put (3) into (1),
x = -3/2 + 4
x = 5/2
∴x = 5/2 , y = -3/2
