How come after i copy a dvd, the copy version could only be played on comp but not tv? but the orignial could.

I assume:-
when you copy dvd to computer, it changes the format of files to store in your computer (like convert it to avi or wmv etc).It is not in same format as orginal dvd.

You need to convert that file (avi or etc)of that video to dvd format when you are burn it to dvd. (using program like convertxtodvd (not free, cost money) or similar to it) so that you can watch it on dvd player.

At present you may be burning those video in your computer as data file to dvd (and not dvd format or video format) so your dvd player cannot read it (while it can read original dvd).

Could be the type of file that is on the copied DVD. Either that or the DVD player you are trying to use doesn't support DVD's that are burned.
