The use of fuse

保險絲(fuse)主要有兩個功用：一係用黎保護電器唔會比太大的電流破壞，二係當電器發生漏電時中斷電源保護使用者。
假設一件電器的最適運作電流係3A，而佢可以承受的最大電流為6A。當5A的fuse時，一但電流大過5A就會自動斷電，就可以避免電器受損。不過如果我地用12A或15A時，當正常情況下是冇太大分別的。但當有問題出現，電流大過了6A，fuse都正常運作，不過電器就承受不了而受到破壞。所以我地通常會選一個比電器正常運作的電流大小小的fuse。

Because if the fuse rating is too large, it cannot protect the electrical appliance.
If there is a fault, the large current will damage the electrical appliance, without melting the fuse
So the fuse rating should be slightly larger than the operating current
