$2650 is divided among Peter, Tom and Mary. Peter has $170 less than twice the share of Mary.Tom had $320 more than one-third the share of Mary. Suppose Mary has $x.
1. Find the amount of money Mary has.

Mary has X,Peter has 2X - 170
Tome has 1/3X +320
Then:
X + (2X -170) + (1/3X +320) = 2650
To find X = ?
3X -170 + 1/3X +320 =2650
3X +1/3X = 2650 +170 -320
3X +1/3X = 2500
3 (3X +1/3 X) = 3 (2500)
9X + X = 7500
10X = 7500
X =750

x+y+z=2650 ---(1)
2z-170 = x ---(2)
(1/3)z +320 = y ---(3)
Put (2)&(3) into (1):
(2z-170) + (1/3)z +320 + z = 2650
10z/3 = 2500
z=750, x=1330, y=570
Therefore, the amount of money Mary has $750
x+y+z=2650 ---(1)
2z-170 = x ---(2)
(1/3)z +320 = y ---(3)
Put (2)&(3) into (1):
(2z-170) + (1/3)z +320 + z = 2650
10z/3 = 2500
z=750, x=1330, y=570
