Will 2 different firewalls on the same pc double the protection?

A firewall will scan thing coming going though the computer and look for there destanation so it will know whether or not to let it in. Every program will have it own settings and you control what you want it to do. So if you have two of them doing it at the same time it will take twice as long to do. Zonealarm is a much better firewall then McAfee but McAfee is alot faster at doing the same thing so you take a pick extra security in ZoneAlarm or Faster but reliable McAfee. I would just stick with Window Firewall but I have nothing in my computer that I am hidding from anyone. So what if my computer get hack I will reinstall windows and go again. Just keep the viruses and adaware out I will be all right. Because if you want a slow computer just let one of them come in and it will slow your computer down.

They will conflict each others and make u loose completely ur protection.

Hamed is right. Two software firewalls installed is like having two antivirus programs installed; they will conflict. Instead of increasing your protection you are likely diminishing it, and it is likely that you will have difficulties getting on to the internet. No need to install and then uninstall because you will have problems. Keep the McAfee Firewall and that will cover your firewall needs.

yes they will conflict each other (mean that if mcfee wants to access the internet will require permission from zonealarm same with zonealarm too) remember the more protection you have, the slower your pc runs

It probably wont DOUBLE your protection, but it would help. Try it, if conflicts appear just uninstall one of them, it's not like it's permanent.
