Microphone problems?

i bought a microphone that can be plugged in the pc, but i cannot hear my voice out from the speakers when i talk. but it can still record stuff... but i really want to hear my voice directly from the speakers without recording it first

If you're in Windows, right click on the volume control and open the volume controls.

If there is a separate control for MIC, then uncheck the "Mute" box on it and that should fix it. It's possible that there will be no such control, in which case, I can't help you. Someone who thinks they're smarter than you probably excluded this feature, to prevent feedback through the mike.

If you have a mike with a preamp, you might be able to plug it into the LINE IN of your computer, which can certainly be heard over the speakers.
