LoL...what do they teach kids now-a-day's????

10% = 1/10 of something...or .10*30.00= 3.00, so if the game is $30 then the cost after the discount would be $27.00...

For every one of these questions I read...I think the movie "Idiotcracy" may be onto something...

i want 2 buy a game that cost 30$ got a card that takes 10% off what is the new price

It means you have to pay only 90% of the total price (30 $)

=> (90/100) of 30 = 0.9 x 30 = 27 $............ Answer

30 bucks = original price
10% of 30 = 10/100*30
=1/10*30 = 3

so take off 3 bucks from the 30

new price after reduction = 27 bucks

10% is the same as 0.10. Take 0.10 x 30 = 3
30 - 3 = 27
2008-01-03 10:46 pm
$30 x (1-10%)
= $30 x 90%
= $30 x 90/100
= $2700/100
= $27

the discounted price would be 27 dollars. 10% of 30 is 3.
30 dollars minus 3 dollars is $27

100% - 30$
10% - 10/100 x 30$

Ten percent is ten parts out of 100:

10/100

This fraction can be reduced to 1/10.

To find 10% of some number, multiply it by 1/10.
If you find it easier to think of it this way, divide the number into 10 equal parts. 10% will be the value of one of those parts.

Now that you have added to your question, I will add to my answer.

To find 10% of 30, multiply 30 by (1/10).
We find that 10% of 30 is 3.
If you are taking off 10% with your coupon, your new number would be
30 - (10% of 30)
30 - (3)
27

So the game originally marked as 30 would now cost 27.
