✔ 最佳答案
|2x - 1| = 7
2x - 1 = 7
x = 4
or
2x - 1 = - 7
2x = - 6
x = - 3

x = - 3 , x = 4

Follow the steps:-
4 | 2x - 1| = 28
dividing by common multiple for simplification
|2x - 1| = 7
Now equating for Absolute Values
2x - 1=7 2x - 1= -7
2x=8 2x= -6
x=4 x=-3
Solution Set = {-3,4}

First you divide by 4. Then since it says absolute value the value of 2x-1 can either be +7 or -7 so
2x-1= -7 or 2x-1=7
2x= -7+1 or 2x=7+1
2x= -6 or 2x=8
x= -3 or x=4
so x can either be -3 or +4
hope that helped

4|2x-1|=28
|2x-1|=7
2x-1=7 OR 2x-1=-7
x=4 OR x=-3

First, divide both sides by 4.

|2x-1| = 7

Now think about what absolute value means. It is the number's distance from zero. That means that |5| and |-5| are the same expressions.

Set what is inside the ||'s equal to 7 and -7. Solve.

2x-1=7
2x=8
x=4

2x-1=-7
2x=-6
x=-3

Answer: {-3, 4}
