The difference between two numbers is 15. The sum of the larger number and 8/5 of the smaller number is 54. Find the larger number.

larger number = xsmaller number = x - 15
x + (8/5)(x - 15) = 54
5x + 8(x - 15) = 270
5x + 8x - 120 = 270
13x - 120 = 270
13x = 390
x = 30
larger number = 30

a-b=15------(1)
a+8b/5=54------(2)
By solving (1) and (2),
a=30,b=15
so the larger number is 30
