1)A man has a paper of the size 210mm x 295mm. He wants to photocopy a picture of the size 180mm x 240mm.
(a)If the length and width of the picture are both enlarged in the ratio 6:5, determine whether the paper is large enough for copying the picture.
(b)Find the maximum possible ratio of enlargement of the picyure so that the paper can be used for copying.

(a)
when both the length and the width are enlarged in the ratio of 6:5, the new dimensions would be 216mm x 288mm
(both multiply 6/5)
Therefore, the paper is not large enough

(b)
From (a), we know that the limiting side should be the width (the side of 210 mm), so the maximum possible ratio
= 210 / 180 = 7 / 6
(After enlarging, the dimension would be 210mm x 280mm)
