i don't know your friend...but trust me hon, friends are allowed to be affectionate. Petnames, cuddling, frequent hugs...it's good for the pysche.
girls, especially mothering ones, are bound to due this. i call my best buddy honey, and sweetheart. it's nothing to freak about. besides it was a text. she could have been being sarcastic.
