1)a light inextensible string hangs over a smooth fixed pulley. it carries at one end a partivle of mass 3 kg, and at the other end a small smooth pulley whose weight may be neglected. Over this pulley hangs a second string carrying at its end particles of mass 1 kg and 2 kg. find the accelerations of the particles.

For the first pulley, both sides are having 3 kg, force balanced and hence no acceleration for the particle of 3kg

For the second pulley, the net force is 2g - 1g = 1g
Thus, the acceleration will be 1g / 3 = 3.3 m/s^2 (take g = 10)
(upwards for the particle of 1kg and downwards for the particle of 2kg)
