What was your best Christmas present?

Mine was my first child. A precious baby girl named Morey Alexis Noelle Springuel, that was born on December 22nd, 2007. She is sleeping next to me right now, and she looks like a little angel. She is so perfect, and I couldn't have asked for a better Christmas. So my question is, what was your best Christmas present this year. It doesn't have to be a material thing, like a movie or book. It can be anything, like a hug or a kind word.

the best gift was that i got to spend time with my dad yesturday and met his side of the family ((my parents are divorced and have been for 12 years)) and my dad doesnt ever call me or anything and when he does it is hard for me to believe whether he will follow through with it or not. he usually ditches me.

My boyfriend gave me gifts. These gifts were not anything ostentacious, but he was the first boyfriend that I have had in nearly six years and the first guy to give me Christmas gifts, and I am 34 years old. He actually took the time to consider what I needed and that was very important to me.

Well, my best spending the time with my other half. Having a quite evening in our home. Does not happen every Christmas. This Christmas it did. Otherwise, my favorite present my Northern American Bird book and Binocolurs to watch Birds.
And Congratulations on being a New mom. yesterday, I was watching No Deal. There was a young mother on with sextuplets. Wow. She was quite a fun lady to watch. She won.

Congratulations! My oldest son was born on Dec. 22 also, he just turned 19. The best thing for me was to have him home and all of us together, plus I actually had a civil phone conversation with my stepmother - a Christmas miracle! I also received a beautiful watch from my husband, exactly what I wanted, usually I get something "practical" from him. And both my boys bought me nice jewelery too. All in all, a really great holiday!

My best Christmas present this year was spending time with my family. Because we all have crazy schedules, I hardly get to see them let alone spend time with them during much of the year. It was amazing being able to have fun with them over Christmas. Congratulations on your daughter! The gift of life and love are always the best gift.

Congratulations! That really is the best gift that you can ask for! My younger daughter turned 4 on Dec 22! We dont really celebrate Christmas...but if we did the best and only thing that I could ask for was just to spend time with my husband and kids and to see everyone enjoying themselves and just being happy!

I've been ill for a long time, the last four months, and unable to properly clean my house. My son cleaned my house from stem to stern, made it sparkle...it was the best gift I've ever gotten. It showed thought and love on his part.

The best Christmas gift I recieved is my brother living with us and getting back on his feet again. My brother was living in New Jersey for 9 years things were good for him until he was laid off and work was very hard to look for he was living homeless for three year in an abandon building. I could not stand that so I went and picked him up and told him to live with us. I was happy my brother was fine and in good health. He is now living with us in Massachusetts and I can never be more happier for Christmas than having your loved ones near you for the holiday and to share your tears of joy.

I had a bittersweet christmas gift..
a dog walked up to our house with this extremely tight cable wrapped around his neck and half of it dragging on the ground.. he had obviously escaped from his house where he had been tied up.
he was a beautiful dog! A husky who was very sweet and friendly, but we could tell he was a bit malnourished and miscared for. His cable was so tight it was almost embedded in his skin, he had matted up fur... skin and bones
he stayed in our backyard for the whole day, we fed him and layed a blanket down for him and he snuggled up right next to the back door the whole time. I could tell he really wanted to come in the house and get some loving attention but we couldn't (he wasn't neutered so he would have probably peed everywhere, and our 2 dogs were going crazy trying to get to him)
we went to all our neighbors but no one knew who's it was.
so I got to spend a day with him, pet him a little bit and marvel at his cuteness, but then took him to the animal shelter today. I'm hoping his real owner doesn't find him.. because I can tell they didn't treat him with the love that this kind dog needs.

I would have to say that it would be the heart necklace my son gave to me. He picked it out and daddy bought it. My son is 4 years old and he told daddy that he wanted to get that one so he would always be close to his heart. Congrats on your new addition, enjoy her, they grow so fast.

I was able to provide my son a Christmas he enjoyed. He is 4 and I am a single parent going to school full time and working- my car broke down about 3 weeks ago and cost me $436, that I did not have. But through a lot of penny pinching so I wouldn't have to take back all of his presents like I had originally thought and some help from wonderful friends one which his children donated one of their own presents to my son I was able to see a smile on my son's face.
I would also like to add the lesson I taught my son on Sunday- we went to the Veterans Hospital and handed out Christmas Cards and candycanes to the veterans who were spending christmas alone on the nursing home floor. My son is learning to appreciate our nation's veterans.. a very important lesson in my opinion

My parents got me a laptop which caught me by surprise, but I love it! Also, my Grandpa was just told he has a brain tumor and we aren't sure how long he will live. I made him a scrapbook which made everyone cry, but really helped me bond with him. I will always remember this Christmas with him, but hopefully he will have many more Christmases with us.

My best Christmas present was waching my son receive his BSE from University of MI (Dec. 16th) on one of the worst snow days so far this year. My car was snowed in at his apartment complex, so we ended up catching the bus to the ceremony. It was worth every moment. On Friday, the 21rst, he was offered employment. Now THAT'S a Xmas present!

I am already out on my own, have my own daughter (age two) and hubby. It just breaks me heart to see my 4 siblings (ages 8-17) struggle emotionally.
We all gathered together in love and support. It was a sweet little Christmas for us. It almost felt like as if Heavenly Father wrapped us all up in a blanket, comforted us, and protected us from the emtional storm that was talking place outside.
It was one that I will never forget. The best Christmas gift was the gift of Christ's love itself.

My grandma had breast cancer and on Christmas day we found out she was going to be fine cause the tumors had stopped spreading so she will live!!! it was the happiest day of my life!!!

My best gift would have to be my mother-in-law. She was diagnosed with terminal esophageal cancer last year and went downhill very fast. However, with many struggles and intense fighting, on her part, she was able to be with us and celebrated Christmas. God Bless.

Mine was completely unexpected and, dare I say, a gift from God like your baby girl was for you :c)
It's my kitten Kichka :c) And she's not just any kitten you buy in a pet store. She's very special...
Two weeks before Christmas our beloved cat Midnight (11 years old) was dying of a very aggressive strand of cancer. We were extremely depressed by this. We'd tried everything to save him (chemotherapy, three operations to remove 8 tumors, etc...). Nothing worked. We were basically waiting for him to die.
Then one night my Mom came home after food shopping. She called me on my cell phone to come down and help her bring in the groceries. As I was walking down the steps I hear her say, "Wait a minute! There's a kitten out here!"
"A what?" I asked her.
"A kitten! It was on the porhc crying and just ran under the neighbor's SUV," she said.
So I ran outside and sure enough there she was, a tiny puffball of fur crouching under the left front tire of our neighbors SUV crying.
"What on earth is a kitten doing outside all alone in this weather?" I asked. It was suppose to snow and, if you know where we live, it's almost impossible for a kitten to get onto our porch by itself without being hit by a car. We live in the city.
I told my Mom to go get me a bowl with some tuna in it and I ended up on the cold asphalt of my neighbor's driveway for 45 minutes trying to lure the little runt close enough for me to catch her. There was no way I was going to live her outside. Especially with the snow coming.
I finally caught her and brought her in our house. She was starving and ate like a little piggy then slept on my bed next to me curled tight like she had always been there.
the next day and for about a week after this we brought her around to all the neighbors houses asking if they'd lost a kitten. We even asked the kids who walk home from school that pass our house everyday. NO ONE knew where she came from. No one was missing a kitten. It was like an angel simply dropped her on our doorstep.
Our beloved Midnight lost his fight with cancer at this time too. It was very hard. We cried a lot. If it wasn't for Kichka doing the funny little things babies do I think we'd still be very depressed.
But Kichka helped bring laughter and happiness back into our household. She truly is a blessing. A modern Christmas miracle :-) And the best Christmas gift I've ever received.
On an interesting side note...My Mom swears she heard Kichka crying on our porch from inside her car the day we found her as soon as she parked in front of our apartment that night BUT Kichka doesn't cry like a normal cat... She does this raspy gasping mew that you can barely hear. She has not meowed like a regular cat since we got her. Not once.
How on earth Mom heard her crying from inside the car that night and followed the sound up onto our porch is still a mystery. Looks like an angel may have been watching out for her that night after all :c)

It wasnt the whole family, but we'll be getting together with the others this weekend. Having my great grand-daughter ask me to tie her tappy shoes for her was very special. Finally having a white Christmas here in Portland! It felt so wonderful because the last time we had a white Christmas here was in 1937! It snowed all day and it felt like a dream!

Oh congradulations, a gift from God! She has a very pretty name too.Well my best Christmas gift came on Christmas Eve from my doctor being told that he thought I would be okay! I'm 12 years old and I have these lumps on the back of my leg that and I just get various bruises that come and go that could be cancer. So I went to urgent healthcare and the doctor thought the lumps were cysts instead of cancer. But he isn't sure and they didn't show up on my x-rays. But he said he thought I would be okay and scheduled me for an MRI and ultrasound Jan. 3.
But I really like the digital camera my mommy got me! (Thanx ma! :)
But if I had got it the best present I would have EVER gotten would have been a word with my father or a xmas card from him or something. I've never known him. And he never calls or anything, nd I I always wished for it and think about him and how things would be different if i knew him daily.

I got the new 80gb zune for Christmas it was not at all as awsome as what you got but it was important because my parents gave it to me and nothing could compare. She sounds wonderful and what a pretty name too! Merry Christmas this year and every year following.

Probably spending time with my family. I don't get to have that "quality time" with everyone like I used to back in the K-7 grades. Christmas is always my favorite holiday because of that time I get to spend with school off.
It's kinda cool too, because my little cousins look up to me (heh, not just because I'm taller) and I'm considered their role-models. That's really cool, and I'd give away everything I got for Christmas (iPhone, art supplies, Bleach season 1 box set...) just for that time again. Thank the Lord we get that one special day every year.

2007 has been a very bad year financially. We were unable to purchase any gifts for anyone, including my children (ages 12, 16 & 17). Yet I have to say that I did receive the best gift in the world, and that is the love of my family, friends AND my children. Everyone has been so understanding! To be "fair" we tried to let everyone know that we would be unable to purchase gifts this year. Everyone was understanding, and perhaps the most amazing thing is that my children were more than understanding as well. We spent Christmas day together just talking, eating, playing games and having a great time. What better gift could someone ask for?

Seriously, what's better than spending time with your family opening presents and having dinner with all your other relatives. That's the whole point of Christmas, family time. But other than that, the concrete present I got was my 3rd generation of the iPod nano from my stepdad and a pair of True Religion Jean from my real dad.

The computer that my 2 brothers & I got for our mother. last year at this time she was having surgery to fix a build up of spinal fluid in her cranium. It was a procedure where they had to drill in to her skull to install a "shunt" to drain the fluid into her abdomen. She didn't miss christmas but she was so dipressed & drained over surgery that she just couldn't enjoy it! Christmas is a very important holliday to our mother & we know how much she looks forward to it every year, so we decided to make it up to her this year. Success & this time we got to see the "happy" tears.

My Christmas present arrives tomorrow - I'm in a wheel chair now but I'm getting a prosthetic right leg tomorrow. 2007 has been difficult because my right leg was amputated above my knee, but it has healed nicely and I'm looking forward to my prosthetic leg and returning to a normal life.

That is a wonderful gift! My favorite thing this year was that my hubby came to church with me and the children on Christmas Eve. He considers himself somewhat of an agnostic, so doesn't like to go, but he went and sang all the carols. He has a great voice and the kids were so happy to have him there! We had a quiet Christmas Day and stayed in our jammies all day. That was a blessing for our family!

Seems at school my 6 year old daughter's class made ornaments this year. Well, somehow she wrapped that ornament the best she could, put it under the tree, all without me knowing. Congratulations on your daughter! Such a precious time. A little flash forward for you: My best present was a set (one for her and one for me) of mother/daughter rings my daughter (19 next month) had made. They are white gold and have our birthstones with two tiny diamonds. She had them engraved with 'Thing One' & 'Thing Two'. It is what my dad used to call us when she was little. My husband said she saved and planned for them for months. I cried like a baby! It was great.

MY youngest son and his wife coming home to be with me.I have been a widow for eight years and they installed a new garbage disposal,replaced apart for the bathroom,removed a stove hood ,hung a swing and gave me lots of hugs.When you are alone and dont have amate at christmas ,you really appreciate everything that someone does.It is very difficult being alone at 63.I;m very young for my age and look like I am in my early 50s.So enjoy your mate now.

Well my best Christmas gift came on Christmas Eve from my doctor being told that he thought I would be okay! I'm 12 years old and I have these lumps on the back of my leg that and I just get various bruises that come and go that could be cancer. So I went to urgent healthcare and the doctor thought the lumps were cysts instead of cancer. But he isn't sure and they didn't show up on my x-rays. But he said he thought I would be okay and scheduled me for an MRI and ultrasound Jan. 3.

I want to say that my best material present was the computer that mom and dad got me (I'm 14), but I really don't think it is. Because when I opened the present from my aunt I was amazed. It was the very hooded sweatshirt that I was going to by a month ago, but at the time I didn't have enough money. Then when I went back to buy it, there were none left, so I was pretty happy when I opened it and saw that sweater.

If you don't feel good as a parent sneaking on these things then don't let your kids use them. It is our responsability to keep them safe and teach them how to protect themselves. I feel it's important to mention that we do this until they reach adulthood, or a maturity level that resembles adult hood. All kids mature differently. Perhaps some guidlines about this would help parents know when kids are ready for this responsability. I know I could use some help, any advice is good. Some of it works and some of it doesn't but, I am open for all suggestions.

I went to a local church and help pass out and carry presents to the family's car [or taxi] for less fortunate families. My school "adopted" 51 kids and bought christmas presents for them. Each advisory and class had 2 children. It felt awesome seeing the kid's faces when they saw their HUGE bag of gifts. They're such great kids and it felt really good to help them have a great christmas. All of this was done through Help-a-Child.

My brother was living in New Jersey for 9 years things were good for him until he was laid off and work was very hard to look for he was living homeless for three year in an abandon building. I could not stand that so I went and picked him up and told him to live with us. I was happy my brother was fine and in good health. He is now living with us in Massachusetts

The best thing for me was to have him home and all of us together, plus I actually had a civil phone conversation with my stepmother - a Christmas miracle! I also received a beautiful watch from my husband, exactly what I wanted, usually I get something "practical" from him. And both my boys bought me nice jewelery too. All in all, a really great holiday!

my friends being alive and well, my best friend and neighbor had her house set on fire 12/21/07, arson, she and her animals are well. the 4 trailors in the back that used her electricity are now with out heat or lite. i have several people living on my couch and mattresses in the floor. many good people that also helped me get them chothes and blankets, suddenly, no matter what material things you may get. this is so much more precious

My Christmas Present was to see my god father after 3 years!!! finally! i missed him so much it was a special moment when he just walked through that door with a big smile on his face tears coming down his cheeks from joy!! it felt so good to see him home again after 3 years!!!!

I am a young, aspiring musician currently learning to play the flute, piano, guitar, trumpet, and drums. It is too much to ask for if I make my parents get me the best specimen of every instrument. I was happy to wake up on Christmas morning to see a beautiful, expensive, silver-plated trumpet with my name on it to replace the somewhat crappy rental one that I have been using. Mine was having people over that had nowhere else to go. We had a wonderful time getting to know them. Also my daughter was able to have Christmas with her family. She is very ill with cancer, but still made the four hour trip to be with the ones she loves. I couldn't be with her in person but my mind and prayers were. I am so fortunate to have such a wonderful family and friends. I love the fact that the Lord Jesus was born and lives in our hearts . God Bless. Glad you had a little miracle to share Christmas with. As an only child with a single mom, my dream all my life was for my mom to find a nice man to settle down with. It was just her and I for most of my life, working hard together to make the best of everything. We didn't get much help from anyone else. She was home every night taking care of me and my best friend everynight, completely dedicated. This Christmas, my mom got engaged to a very nice man, a man that I would be proud to have as a step-dad. It happened that a sms was not supposed to send to me but somehow I gueSSed God has the power to do it and it appeared in my handphone and showed her true colors to me that she is a hypocrite! All along she is a pessimistic person with no much friends and I have been trying soo hard to help her change her mindset and thinking but it doesnt help a lot. I will bring her around to shop (I even ask her to choose a necklace that day when we went out for her x'mas gift) and enjoyed things that had never came across her and she told me she is greatful to me. Things started to change the next day when I received the sms.
But never will I think that she has been telling her other friend that Im a bad person. Well, it had been a year and I couldnt bring myself to go out, sms or chat with her again like we used to do it in the past. The sms that I had received really tell me sometimes kindness doesnt pay! And I know she is guilty too becoz after the message was send to me, she didnt contact me for more than 2 weeks not even a sms which she used to send me at least once or twice per day! Maybe one day I will forgive her? But im sure its not gOnna be soo fast!
This is really the BEST Christmas present I had ever received so far! Thanks to God.

I just enjoyed being with my family. Usually my family doesn't get along very well but on Christmas all of that seems to change. Everyone is at peace and we all have a wonderful time. But, if I had to choose one of the material things that I got I would have to say my Chestnut Uggs.

I got a $100 visa gift card from my dad! I usually don't care much about gifts but my dad has given me a gift twice in my life (one was a broken tricycle), he was unreliable, didn't pay child support and I would hear from him for years at a time. I just felt happy that he actually cared and gave me something that would help me. He said he was going to help me pay for school and never did. I really needed the money for groceries because I only have $24 in the bank and $30 in cash. Paying for school is so hard. He told my mom he would give me money and I told her he never keeps his word and he did. For the first time in my life! I am just happy he kept his word more than anything. If only he did that more often.

I've come to realize that Christmas presents aren't what's important. Really realize it.
The best "present" I got this year was being with my family. I spent a lot of time making things to give for presents - and the presents I most enjoy are the ones people have made and put thought into.
In future, I'm going to try to exemplify the idea that being together the celebrate the reason for the season is what's most important - just watch the news and see how materialism has ruined this holiday season.

Well....my favorite thing was being able to buy gifts for all my neices & nephews. They had SO much fun opening their presents, even the smallest little things amaze them with their bright little eyes. It was a good Christmas, everyone was happy & the kids got plenty of toys!!

The best present that I got for Christmas this year was exactly what I had wanted. I got to spend it with my best friend and her five awesome children. I could not have received a better present then seeing their eyes light up and their faces get big smiles as they opened up their toys and presents from Santa and their parents. There is just something about the joy in a child to make any day that much better and any Christmas that much more memorable.

Congrats on your baby girl, kids are the best gift of all! They are the gift that keeps giving, with every smile and laugh they fash at you, when they wrap their little arms around your neck and tell you they love you.
My Christmas highlight was watching my three year old and one year old open presents, and listening to my son saying "i really like santa" haha. Its beautiful when kids have somethign like that to believe in.
OH and of course, after working a long day(that started at 4:30am) christmas eve i fell asleep reading my son a book, and THANKFULLY woke up at 2:30 am and was able to get everything wrapped and under the christmas tree by 4:30 then i couldnt sleep because i felt like i should be getting ready for work.
And a materialistic gift i'd have to say would be this yankee candle my friend got for me, i'm very picky with my candles and she and i have complete opposite taste in scents. She picked out the PERFECT candle! I was very impressed so was my nose.

The best actual material gift was from my husband. I got a sewing machine that is computerized and can quilt, embroider, do fancy stitching, and much more. Should keep me occupied for a long time. But even better was spending time with our family & friends over Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and evening. Lots of hugs, kisses and a great amount of laughter. You see, the reason for the season is to celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ. He came to save us from our wrong doings so we can spend eternity with Him. So, celebrating with my friends and family at church, in their homes and in my home is the best of Christmas for me.

Hope all of your holiday's were as wonderful!

First off, congratulations for your new found motherhood and baby Morey. Very pretty name and quite unique. Good for you. Parenthood is the ultimate joy, so it is pretty hard to top that gift for your following Christmas's.
My best Christmas gift was the look on my 21 month old daughters eyes when she saw all her presents, followed closely by the look and glee she expressed after opening all her toys and clothes....
I think next year I will forgo buying gifts for everyone else and concentrate on her, just so I can see those eyes and hear those squeals of joy again and again.
Then again...by this time next year I will have an 8 month old as well.

Spending time with my family and friends. My friends and I saw Fred Clause on Christmas, and that movie was the absolute best! It was great just spending time with them, and on that day we exchanged presents. My favorite material present for Christmas was the new iPod Nano from Santa!

My dad has always been at Christmas, but my mom has always been the one to buy gifts, take us to see Christmas lights, take us Christmas shopping, and everything else. He used to put up Christmas lights (he hadn't in the last few years) but that was when my brothers and I were little so we couldn't actually help him up on the roof. Yes, my mom always put 'Love, Mom and Dad' on the gifts but my dad never actually had anything to do with it.
So for the first time this year, my dad actually took it into his own hands to give us a good Christmas. He gave my brothers and me our gifts and then took me shopping for whatever I wanted. He even made a nice dinner at his apartment for us, we weren't able to get over there because there was a blizzard going on and I was really dissapointed. So on Christmas Eve he took us to a movie of our choice and we gave him his gifts.
It wasn't much but it was the best Christmas because my dad actually acknowledged us.

Congrats. Me, I have spent my Christmas with my children and we had a great time. Seeing them happy when I took them to the Toy shop and let them choose what toy they want to have for Christmas. The best Christmas present I had was my mom watching my newborn for a few days to let me wrap presents for my other child, my son, and get some sleep for once.. My daughter is 4 months old and still wakes up every few hrs to eat! So ,the best christmas present for me was sleep ,for sure!

This Xmas was the best Xmas ever, because my whole family has been together after 3 years!

To see the excited screams of a little boy from the housing projects. He opened a new bike his daddy scrapped up the money for all year to buy him (his daddy is disabled and living on a fixed income) before christmas. Before that day was up someone in the neighborhood stole his bike and sold it for money for drugs. I went to Wal-Mart and found a really nice bike, it looked just like a motorcycle. When I walked to the register to pay for it, several people wanted to know if there were any more like that one left, they wanted to buy one for their boy. It was the last one they had. I told them no. When I took that new bike, (which was so cool any eight year old boy would love it), to that little boy, he jumped up and down and screamed in excitement. That was the best gift I could have ever had.

Attending two Christmas parties for mentally handicapped adults. My husband has provided the music for their parties for years and every year just seeing the absolute joy and wonder on their faces as they exchange gifts, talk to Santa and enjoy dancing is beyond comparison.
Also, spending time with our daughter, her husband and our 3 grandchildren was a blessing. We're not materialistic and just watching others enjoy the Christmas holiday is the very best gift we could hope for.

I had a couple of good gifts this year. One was the our church's Christmas Eve service. The youth who performed were fantastic as well as the skit that was performed. The entire service provided some laughs and some seriousness. It was a great combination and was one of the best Christmas Eve services in a while.
Now for materialistic things. I got a new cell phone a couple days before Christmas and I got a new Digital Camera on Christmas. The cell phone I needed as my old one just wasn't working like it used to. The new digital camera was a good surprise because My camera was getting old (3 years) but now my dad can have that camera because he had loved that camera since they bought it for me.
All in all it was a good time spent with family.

I was able to buy a Nintendo Wii on the 24th. I went to my nearest BestBuy store early on Monday morning and they had a new shipment of Wiis.

I went to a local church and help pass out and carry presents to the family's car [or taxi] for less fortunate families. My school "adopted" 51 kids and bought christmas presents for them. Each advisory and class had 2 children. It felt awesome seeing the kid's faces when they saw their HUGE bag of gifts. They're such great kids and it felt really good to help them have a great christmas. All of this was done through Help-a-Child.
I recieved my wonderful puppy, Laila, on December 22 =) But I think a baby would beat that (of course).

Honestly, my grandmother passed away on the 23rd... and the best gift I could get was to believe in the power of prayer and to be there when she passed away. I prayed for God to take her and let her be with my grandfather and an hour later, he answered my prayers and she isn't suffering anymore. I'll miss her but I feel more connected with God and the true meaning of Christmas.
This Christmas was a small Christmas. Our family isn't wealthy like some others. We didn't buy our children much. Each child got three gifts all for under $30.00 each. "Santa" brought each child one gift, each under $40.00, and filled their stockings with some chocolate candies and small stocking stuffers. I have to tell all of you, my kids weren't upset AT ALL because they know the true meaning for Christmas is NOT supposed to be materialistic. It's a religious holiday meant for celebration with family and friends or even yourself, if you're alone for the holidays. You're not alone EVER, your with God.

Me and my friend got reconnected after being separated for about 20 yrs. We were writing and I lost his address, my address book his last letter and everything. I tried a few times to reconnect didn't really know how to go about doing it. Everybody wanted money. A friend told me about whitepages.com, went there typed in his name, state, gave me a list of people w/names addresses, telephone # even a map to his address. Spending with Nanay (Mother in Filipino), Tatay (Father), Kapatid (sibling). We hardly have time to be together. Tatay is currently working in Qatar as a driver. His contract ends in 2 years. She knew that I loved animals very much,
so I really like her gift as well!
My mother prepared a big meal for me. Have you ever imagined a meal of both Chinese and American cuisine?

but you shoule know that KFC is a little expensive for a common Chinese family :D We want to have it for lunch everyday, but our wallet doesn't allow us to do so.

My best Christmas present was a phone call from my biological father. I am 20 years old and I haven't seen him since I was six and hadn't talked to him since I was 16. That really made my day. I don't know what it is...but even though he wasn't there for me growing up and hasn't really done anything for me besides child support...I can't get my self to hate him. I feel like a kid again every time I hear his voice or hear news about him. I just want to be apart of his life. I am afraid to get my hopes up of that ever being so, because I don't want to be disappointed. But I would like to know that when I do have children they will have someone to call grandpa.

my best present was the happiness and satisfaction when I gave gifts.
the best gift I gave was, visiting my grand parents and giving them a hug. we exchanged several funny incidents and spent time very use fully. I went to an orphanage and payed for their meals and dinner.
when i saw the children praying for my good health and prosperity, my eyes were filled with tears.
One small girl came up to me and asked are you a God?
i did not know what to say...
but i just handed her a sweet.
all the kids there asked me to play with them and i spent the whole afternoon there.
Only then did i realise how fortunate I am. I realised i did not need any x-mas presents as i had life time gifts -"my family".

well i am only 18 and i drive a 2007 mitsubishi eclipse spyder GT fully loaded, and i didn't get anything for christmas but i got papers which were the reciepts and car papers for a brand new 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution MR. i have to pick it up in two months. can you believe that, i am only 18 and i drive two nice cars.

Not a present, but the best thing about Christmas was being able to drive through town and see the fast food restaurant car parks devoid of cars! My partner was all happy by seeing the dams full of water. We're in drought country, so we don't see that often.

Well I was going to buy a camera, with money i get from relos, I get quite a lot, seeming they live in Ireland and never see us, and yeah, but my mum said there as no way she was buying one, and yet again she tricked me!! I love my camera!! But I loved being able to spend Christmas with my family!!

My kids and I were volunteering at a nursing home on Christmas and we were visiting with a resident for a few hours who had no family, she lost her only child on 9/11, he worked in the south tower and died when the plane hit. She told us stories about losing her parents in a concentration camp when she was just an infant, about her childhood being raised by her aunt and uncle in Iowa, about her husband who was shot and killed a year and a half after they were married, and about her son, who was everything to her, and she talked about how it's hard to get out of bed in the morning because she doesn't feel like there's anything to live for. When we had to leave, she thanked us for spending so much time listening to her and then she said that this was the best Christmas she's had in six years. For such a sincere compliment to come from a woman whose life has been anything but easy, I take alot of pride in that, I thought that was the best gift I could get. But no, the best gift was later that night while I was tucking my kids into bed and I asked them what their favorite part of their Christmas was, my six year old son told me his favorite part was knowing that he "helped the sad lady smile." And THAT was the best Christmas gift I've gotten EVER. Hope everyone else's was just as rewarding! :)

being able to give Christmas to another family that had almost nothing. We came to their door with a car FILLED with Christmas gifts for this family and brought it to the mom, she started crying and was so happy. It was my very favorite part of Christmas, I want to do it every year it was so amazing and made me feel so happy and in the Christmas spirit at last.

My gift was that my parents (who have been divorced for 3-years in a bitter breakup) spent the whole weekend together without any arguments and they were getting along and everything seemed like we were a family again. I was so thankful that this happened because I felt more loved knowing both of them were there for me during the holidays.

Well mine was to have my sister home for Christmas. She lives in California and I'm all the way here in Missouri. It's just me && my mom at home. So when she comes it's like a big relief because I can finally have somebody to talk to. When I was about 6 I moved from California to come to Missouri and my sister decided to stay in Cali by herself. Not having a sibling in your house is very hard and it gets quite lonely sometimes. AND...she's been here since the 18th!! A WHOLE 10 days! But the sad part is that she's only here to visit...which means she's leaving this Friday. It sucks. I hope I don't cry when I bring her to the airport.
Me && my boyfriend have a long distance relationship (it's only temporary until I get there). And later on that night we were chatting and he got really depressed all of a sudden. That made me feel bad then I already did. I didn't have that much money because I'm saving up for college coming up in a couple of weeks and to move out to California with him also. (Weird that the 2 people I miss the most are in California). But because of that I couldn't buy him any gifts to send. Anyways, he was depressed about him not seeing me and being insecure about him being able to keep me. But I reassured him of everything and I think we needed that conversation and it got us even closer and we fell deeper in love. And when he told me that me cheering him up was a wonderful X-mas present...I felt happy. (He's very hard to perk up). But him reassuring ME that I still have his heart is the best gift that I can ever receive from him. I know it doesn't sound like much, but with a long-distance relationship and us missing the HELL out of each other, it's all we have. 1 year, 5 months, and going. Never thought I can love somebody this much.
I felt as if nobody this year had much of a hoiday spirit for anything. Christmas didn't feel like christmas, halloween didn't feel like Halloween. But a NEW YEAR IS ABOUT TO START! Let's hope it brings in a good one! Happy Holidays to everybody!

I'm in Taiwan. Most Chinese people do not celebrate Christmas. My parents gave me gifts in Christmas and telling me that was sent by Santa while I was a little girl. All my friends were envy me. I found out that was made by my parents when I was 10.

My best Christmas present this year was hearing the joy in my family's voices, and seeing smiles on my children faces. It was the first Christmas that I was financially able to get presents for my family, including my children, fiance, parents, cousins, grandparents, and friends, it seeing how happy and surprised everyone was to receive a gift from me made it the most special Christmas I've ever experienced. I feel truly blessed.

I want to say that my best material present was the computer that mom and dad got me (I'm 14), but I really don't think it is. Because when I opened the present from my aunt I was amazed. It was the very hooded sweatshirt that I was going to by a month ago, but at the time I didn't have enough money. Then when I went back to buy it, there were none left, so I was pretty happy when I opened it and saw that sweater.
But my best gift overall was spending time with my family, at christmas diner with my grandparents, and parents.

i recieved my best gift before christmas... decorating the tree with my mom and brother... we had so much fun, and we didn't listen to christmas carols. we had a blast being goofy and decorating to "no sleep for brooklyn" by the beastie boys, french techno, and t-pain. it has been a rough year for us, and that was just the highlight of the season.

Mine was a secret gift card of 60.00 from a couple from my church. They chose me to give it to. I was more touched that I was thought of and that a lone made me feel very special. It was a sure blessing from God.

My beloved dog, Miles, died on the 21st and I wasn't going to be able to get him cremated, then the brother of a quadriplegic I used to help care for offered to pay for the cremation so I could keep Miles' ashes with me forever. That was the best gift this year, and turned a sad holiday into a, well, less sad holiday. I get his ashes back tomorrow! I am making a memorial book with comments from people who knew Miles and together these will keep his spirit with me!

My best Christmas present was a homemade scrapbook created by my daughters. They gave me pages about them and about their relationship with me. The oldest daughter wrote me a song about how much she loves me and appreciates what I do. To me, that was better than $1 million dollars.

Well i got to see my other side of the family as i went home with my dad for the Holidays. Being a divorce child is lame but getting to see my dad was great. Also my little borothers too. Seein the look o their face when they opend gifts was priceless as i watched them. They are great and its good t find everyone is doing great over there.

My best present...my husband was home. My 4 yar old son and I spent the past two Christmas' alone. My husband was in Iraq. He almost had to go this Christmas as well, but his date was pushed back until February. Being together as a family is the best present. Watching my son open his presents with his father...priceless.

One of the best Christmas presents for me this year was that neither my husband or I had to work on Christmas Eve as we did for several years. Christmas Eve is when my whole family and extended family gets together so it's extra important to me. Plus my uncle finally got to meet my son who was named after him.

I honestly don't want to say a material thing but my skullcandy headphones are pretty awesome, other than that I haven't gotten my best christmas present yet, hopefully this saturday I will. I am supposed to be seeing my best friend for the first time in months (we go to different h.s.'s and we both get so busy).

That is a beautiful name! I didn't get my present yet, but its my husband! He has been in Iraq with the Marines since February!! Our dog has been so excited! I keep telling him "Daddy's coming home tomorrow" and he knows exactly what I am saying! Everyone please remember our troops fighting over seas this holiday season. I wish every family could be as lucky as me to get their husband back for Christmas!

My best present this year wasn't a gift i received but rather, what i gave.My mother, frail and in very poor health was hospitalized one week before Christmas and we were told she needed open heart surgery to replace a valve.We purchased a digital picture frame (what great technology) and loaded recent pics, old pics of siblings, nephews, nieces, Grand children etc, set it in slide show mode and sent it to the hospital. We cant be there for her up coming surgery but we'll kinda be there for her to see us.

umm...i think so FAR- its my 100 dollars for abercrombie, but i cant wait to go to mexico and give the poor children their christmas presents- one of the best things you'll ever see is the look of joy on a child's face

Well I recently lost my Grandpa, and it really tore our family apart. We have been fighting ever since. But we got together on Christmas Eve and loved. I mean we LOVED in every sense of the word. We left a candle burning for him all night, and the warmth and glow from it reminded us of his spirit. We cherished his memory, and we cherished each other. Thanks, Papa. We love you.

The warm & comfy slippers my sons (4 and 14) gave me. They were just what I needed! and a pretty stress free holiday. Very low key, just the 4 of us. We travel next week to see the family, but all & all this was one mellow christmas!

She sounds so cute! Anyway, since I'm so jealous, one of my best Christmas presents was my new laptop that I'm using currently! I love it, though I'm still working out kinks that come from switching computers and the fact that I now have Windows Vista (which I don't know anything about) instead of Windows XP. I basically only wanted a laptop because I do so much writing and its aggravating to go on road trips and stuff and then get this really great idea for a story and only be able to write half of it down on a piece of paper so that I can type it later. It's horrible because when I sit down to type either a) I lost the sheet of paper or b) since I only wrote half of it down, I can generally start it, but then I can't remember the ending that I had in mind...anyway, I really hope that Morey turns out great. I wish you all the best with your daughter, and I must tell you that my husband and I have tried for kids, but our only option currently is to adopt. I just don't really want to do that, though. You might be able to understand that, though, right? Anyway, I wish you the best! =)

I saw my best friend after 2 years. I missed her so much and I was so glad when I finally saw her. She came to visit me and we stayed up all night talking and laughing. It was so great.

Oh wow, I got so many gifts I don't know if I can name just one.
Well I'll name two things a material gift and a non material one. My favorite material present was a Nintendo Wii. I wanted one all this time and I finally got one, I was so surprised.

When I saw your question, I was like, well this will be short. I got a great Christmas present this year.
