Iron blocks, A and B, are heated by heaters C and D respectively for the same period of time. The ratio of the power of to that of D is 3:4. If the ratio of the temperature change of A to that of B is 4:3, what is the ratio of the mass of A to that of B?

We have
P(C)t=m(A)c(A)ΔT(A)...(1)
P(D)t=m(B)c(B)ΔT(B)
That is
(4/3)P(C)t=m(B)c(A)(3/4)ΔT(A)
(16/9)P(C)t=m(B)c(A)(3/4)ΔT(A)...(2)
(2)/(1):
So 16/9=m(B)/m(A)
or m(A)/m(B)=9/16
The ratio of the mass of A to that of B is 9/16
