1) Why melting a solid requires energy???

2) Can you answer this

Every magnet has a magnetic ........... around it. This is the space where the magnetic .......... do their pushing and pulling.

And then The field is concentrated at points called .............. if a magnet is hung up, it tries to point so that its north seeking ........... is towards the ........... pole of the earth. Opposite poles .......

1) Energy used to break the intermolecular bonding of the molecules. Like the boiling of water, when the water molecule get enought energy, it can escape from the intermolecular force from other water molecules. This is the same as in solid.
