As of right this second we have proof of thousands of planets around millions of stars.
We can't actually "See" most of them with the equipment we have right now but scientists use the "Wobble" in the rotation of the sun caused by the gravitational pull of the planets to determine if a solar system has planets or not.
There might be even more planets and asteroids around the sun's we have looked at that are just too small to make noticeable differences in the rotation of their sun.
If you consider that there are trillions of galaxies out there and each galaxy has millions of sun's and each sun can have dozens of planets that means that the number of POSSIBLE planets out there is infinite!
It is this infinite possibility that has me convinced that we are not the only life out there in the great expanse of this dimension… Oh yeah… and don’t even get me started on the literally infinite dimensions that science has proven exist.
