As the chairperson of the Moral and Civic Education Team in our school, I have chosen to organize certain activties to the handicapped group this year. My reasons behind my preference is because the handicapped population is increasing and the services provided to them while compared to the poor elderly or the unemployed have not. All of the listed dedicated groups do deserve our concern, however due to the limited resources that we have, priorities must be established.

With respect to activities, I shall split them into two major categories. They are internal awareness and external commitment. In the internal awareness activity, we shall hold seminars to promote the awareness of underprivileged handicaps to our fellow schoolmates. Then we shall initate an aggressive recruitment campaign and ask for student donations of any type. Through building a team of volunteers. We shall then venture into the external commitment and approach varous handicapped groups within the community. By developing a structured team and allotting human resources properly, we shall commit to contributing to the needy handicapped around us by helping them rebuild self esteem, with the help of professionals we can teach them how to put their capabilities into good use. Our commitment shall be a joined project with local community centers, though it may seem that our efforts will not change too much. But if we act as a role model, other schools will follow, and that is how we shall make a difference in the society in helping those that deserve and need our assistance!

Activities for the handicapped people:
you can organize some 'Festive--Love & Care Fun Day'. Arrange some 'Get to know you' activities in which can be carried out among handicapped and normal people. For instance, "Lock and Key" activities. Pairs of strangers will be grouped together for a causal chat and after 5 minutes change to chat with another people along the row...
