The book was interesting.

I was interested in the book.

這兩句句子同樣用interest,點解一個要加~ing,另一個加~ed。文法上有什麼分別。

其實interesting和interested都作為形容詞用,但其意思就有不同
interesting解作:有趣的;而interested解作感興趣的
如:It is an interesting book(這是本有趣的書)
  I am interested in this book(我對這本書感興趣)
這樣解釋,比較容易明白!

ing係形容本書好有趣, ed係指我對本書好有興趣!
例如: he is boring(佢令人好悶)
he is bored(某人或某事物令佢好悶)

interested是形容人的感受
eg:
I felt bored about this book.
This book is boring.

Both of them are adjective
but they are used in different ways

1.) Interesting<------ mainly used on describing things
e .g Interesting + noun

2.) Interested <----- mainly used on describing Human feelings
e .g. someone + verb-to-be + interested
