You probably can lose 5 lbs. safely. Cut out soda pop, anything with sugar like cookies, candy. Never skip a meal.

Here is a good menu for one week
Breakfast
1 Container of Yogurt
1 Slice of Wholewheat Toast
1 Glass of Juice
1 Cup of Herb Tea

Lunch
1 Medium Salad with sliced Turkey
1 Slice of Whole Wheat Bread
1 Bottled Water
1 Fruit

Dinner
1 small Piece of Grilled Chicken, Fish, Lamb or Steak
1 small baked potato
1 serving of any veggie
1 Fruit
1 Bottled Water or Selzer

1 Snack - Diet Jello or an Energy Bar

Do this for a week, and you will derinitely lose 5 lbs or more

If you did, it would only be water weight, not body fat. the amount of body fat you can lose in a week will be insignificant to your weight.

Hours of exercise is very bad for your overall health and you will be more likely to gain the weight back again. You should do no more than 30mins to 1.5hrs of cardio a day. If you are just starting to exercise, i would suggest a routine of 30-45mins or cardio 3-4 days per week.

Yes, good news is you can loose 2-5lbs in the 1st week. Bad news is that would be mostly water weigh. Do not consume less than 1,200 calories per day, any less will do you more harm than good. Do cardio/weight training, to keep muscle tone. Loose the weight the way you gained it, slowly, about 2lbs a week. Never starve yourself to get thin; that is one of the worst things you can do to your body. Eat smaller (healthy) meals more often (about 5 smaller meals a day, every 2-3 hours). Good luck.

only 1 or 2 pounds of real weight if you work hard ... a drastic change in diet and exercise can result in a couple pounds (like 5) of water-weight-loss, but this depends on your body, and it doesn't stay off ...

remember:
- 1 pound of fat is approximately 3500 calories
- dramatic calorie reduction for extended periods of time will slow your metabolism - this statement means that you will have to eat less than you normally would just to maintain your weight and not gain - if you do this repeatedly, you will end up having to diet and exercise the rest of your life to keep the weight off ...

It really depends on what you do to loose weight. I've heard of people loosing 2-5 pounds a week. But don't overexert yourself. Exercising is the key. Don't forget to eat plenty of fruits, veggies, and meat to keep your body healthy. Don't eat too much junk food and if you don't want to bloat then just don't eat a lot of salty food.

Yes, you can lose weight in one week. How much weight is dependent upon the person and the diet/exercise. I am on a high protein diet. I eat 20 grams of protein 6 times a day with only one carb per meal (if I have spaghetti, the pasta is a carb so no garlic bread). I have lost 12 pounds in two weeks on this diet. I also exercie 3-4 times a week.

The most you can safely lose is 2 to 3 pounds of fat. If you loose more it is a false weight loss of just water and it will come back.
· It is important to maintain a good diet so you don't compromise your health. Damage done because of lack of nutrition is not worth a nice body. Some diet damage cannot be fixed.
·
· When you deprive your brain,(your brain craves sugar) the brain will take other body cells to convert to the elements that it needs. And the cells it takes are BRAIN cells. OOPS. I don't want to lose brain cells to have thin legs. But I would like to have both.

DECIDE TO MAKE A LIFE CHANGE TO A HEALTHY LIFE STYLE.

1) fruits and veggies, all you want, organic, raw, vine-ripe if possible. Steamed is OK, sautéed is OK even canned or frozen is OK, but lots of them.
2) limited or no meat.
3) nothing fried
4) no FAST FOOD- is junk, no nutrition, empty calories
5) NO PROCESSED FOOD. if you can't pronounce it don't eat it.
6) nothing white, salt, sugar, mayo, milk, (or at least in moderation.
7) NO DAIRY-dairy is great for baby cows, your body does not even digest it properly. check out www.notmilk.com
8) EXERCISE- and be sure to refresh your body with water and fresh fruit
9) NO PROTEIN SUPPLEMENTS. Muscle is made from water, replace the water. You get enough protein from the food you eat, You get more protein from spinach than the supplements you take and your body does not get toxic on food protein the way it will with supplements. Supplements can really tax you liver.
10) Good supplement would be Omega 3, and Juice Plus+

11) NO CARBONATED DRINKS, or at least limited. They actually dissolve the calcium in your bones.
12) Calories in calories out.

AND DON'T GO NUTS, MODERATION.
