We use the past simple tense ( I did) to talk about what happened in the past.
describe past actions
We often use the simple past tense with time words. We can put the time words at the beginning or at the end of a sentence. Some common time words include ‘yesterday’, ‘last week’, ‘last month’ and ‘three years ago’.

I didn't play.
I did not play.
I didn't play but I watched.

The simple past tense of regular verbs ends in –ed. We form the simple past tense of regular verbs like this.

past simple tense （past tense）要注意出現有幾個字眼：last day/night/month/year, yesterday, this morning/evening/night.

而你所說幾個sentences 可解釋為這樣：1. I didn't play. (它是past tense, 意思是你沒玩耍﹝你所「指定」時間 / 日期而過去﹞。)2. I did not play. (它是past tense, 意思是你沒玩耍﹝你所「指定」時間 / 日期而過去﹞。) 但它與第一句子不同的是：did not 是『全寫』，而didn't 則是『簡寫』。
