hi, i need help on this question
Find exact distance from the point P(-1,0,2) to the line containing the points A(4,-1,2) and B(3,0,4).

方程AB為
(x-4)/(3-4)=(y+1)/(0+1)=(z-2)/(4-2)
-(x-4)=(y+1)=(z-2)/2
直線的方向比[-1,1,2]
令-(x-4)=(y+1)=(z-2)/2=t
x=4-t,y=-1+t,z=2+2t
設P到AB的垂足交於Q(4-t,-1+t,2+2t)
PQ直線的方向比=[-1-(4-t),0-(-1+t),2-(2+2t)]=[-5+t,1-t,-2t]
因AB垂直PQ
(-1,1,2).(-5+t,1-t,-2t)=0
5-t+1-t-4t=0
6t=6
t=1
Q的座標(3,0,4)
P到AB的垂直距離
=sqrt(PQ)
=sqrt[(3+1)^2+(4-2)^2]
=sqrt(20)
=2sqrt(5)

若果Q點可以表成此形式﹐則A點和B點應該可以寫成(-b,b,2b),(-c,c,2c)﹐但好明顯不能。
