Let the amount of number be x

if the number of people is increased by 20%,
the NEW number of people will be 15 x 1.2 = 18

the percentage decrease of the amount each one receives :

 x/18 - x/15
---------------- x 100%
 x/15

 1/18 - 1/15
= ---------------- x 100% = -16.67%
  1/15

let y be the number of the sum of money
amount remains: y/15
when the number of people is increased by 20%,
the number of people now is: 15X(1+20%)=18
so the percentage decreased of amount each one receives is:

(y÷18-y÷15)÷(y÷15)X100%

=(y÷3)/(y÷15)X100%

=(100÷5)%

=20%//
