A mixture of gases at pressure 7.50 x 104 Nm-2 has a volume composition 40% N2, 35% O2 and 25% CO2.
(a) What is the partial pressure of each gas?
(b) What will be the partial pressure of nitrogen and oxygen if carbon dioxide is removed by introduction of sodium hydroxide pellets?

just answer part b.Thx

b. The partial pressure of N2 and O2 would remain unchanged. The main reason is that partial pressure of a gas is the pressure of that gas if the volume is purely occupied by that gas. In this case, no matter whether CO2 is present or not, the numbers of O2 and N2 molecules remain unchanged. Hence the partial pressures of them remain unchanged.
