REGULAR rail freight services across North and South Korea are to start next month
for the first time in more than 50 years. The services will begin on December 11,according to a joint statement issued on the final day of meetings betwwwn South Korean Prime Minister Han Duck Soo and his North Korean counterpart Kim Jong II in seoul.

Cross-border trains had made test runs in May in what was hailed as a milestone for unification between the nations. Both sides hope to promote peace and co-prosperity through the agreement and on other projects.
