希臘山火49死頒緊急狀態
希臘發生的山火蔓延，死者增至49人，總理卡拉曼利斯認為山火不是巧合，並宣布全國進入緊急狀態。目前山火的總數已達到170宗，在風助火勢的情況下，希臘近年來最嚴重的山火繼續肆虐，已逼近雅典。大火產生的灰燼飄落到了雅典衛城。不少村落被猛火包圍，多條道路封閉，大批居民須緊急疏散，至今已有最少49人死亡，另有數十人重傷，預料死亡人數會繼續攀升。
希臘當局已要求歐盟提供協助，並宣布全國進入緊急狀態。歐盟接獲希臘政府求助後，法國內政部表示，當局已派出兩架投擲水彈的飛機，於昨日下午抵達當地軍方機場。
總理卡拉曼利斯發表電視講話說，面對火災中死去的民眾，他感到無比的悲痛和憤怒。他認為在希臘這麼多地方同時發生大規模的火災不可能是巧合，政府將竭盡全力找到縱火者並將對他們進行嚴厲懲罰。
