Only medics are trusted to carry morphine and they have to sign for each vial of it and it is inspected once a week to ensure that it has not been used. If the medic does have to use the morphine on a casualty he/she must fill out some paperwork explaining why, when,where, and how much was used. it is very controlled and would be almost impossible for someone to just take some for fun and get away with it.

As far as I can remember only a medic would have morphine with them. The common soldier would not routinely carry an opiate. Also if a medic administered a shot of morphine he would tag the soldier with the time of the injection.

Usually it's only the medics however some soldiers with specific missions may be.

In the US army no, but when I cross trained with UK forces, their average soldiers did carry them. Different army have different polices.

dunno.... but im guessin only medics/corpsman carry them... seems kinda dumb to let someone self administer morphine... ive been on morphine.. its a pain to keep ur mind clear... altho i suppose it dependson the dosage also?

Well I did when I served in the military n I believe they still do in the form of n injection need cartridge that they can use if they r in the field n there is no medic available until someone is able to get to them to ease the pain.
