Volt of the dry cells

The voltage of the dry cell will drop after usage, because as energy is expended, internal resistance of the cell will build up and that will make the output voltage drop, which in turn decrease the output current.
Typically, 1.5V may drop to 1.2V or lower, and eventually drop to unusable range, like 0.8V.
