why not just say"you don"t have to do it"?

你可以唔做呢樣野

1. You don't have to do it. (你不一定要做)
2. No need to do it. (無需要做)
3. You can leave it if you don't want to do it. (如果你不想幹, 可以任由它這樣)

你唔可以做呢樣野
1. Don't do it.
2. You shouldn't/mustn't do it.

You cannot do this = '你不能做'. 有意思是指你能力上不能做等,
並這不等於: 你唔可以做呢樣野

1 You can do this, but it is better not to.

2 It might be o.k. to do this, but I prefer not to.

3 It will be better if you do not do this.

I know what you are asking
e.g. 你可以唔做呢樣野
you can write it like this, 'Can't you stop doing this?'

you may not do this

好多講法都ok, 大前題係"可以唔做" = "做唔做都得".

例子:

1) you don't have to do this (if you don't want to)

2) up to you if you want to do it or not

3) it's ok if you don't do this
