In figure, arc XY = 2π cm and ∠XOY = 90°. Find the area of the shaded region in terms of π.

2πr * 0.25 = 2π
r = 4

area of the shaded region
= πr^2 * 0.25 - r^2 * 0.5
= π2^2* 0.25 - 2^2 * 0.5
= π - 2
