May be the movie is using some coding that is not in DivX format. You are advised to download K-Lite Mega Codec Pack at the following address

Install the codec pack and then you can choose either the Windows Media Player or the media player classic, which is installed during the installation of the codec pack. Please be reminded to choose "Lots of Staff" during installation.
