Handwashing bras?

I'm just about to handwash a couple of bras and have realised I've never actually done that before!
What should I use?

Woolite. Or in a pinch even Lysol or borax would do- though you would have to rinse thoroughly.

hand washing bras????? Oh no!!!! shove 'em in the washing machine along with everything else. You'll soon get sick of washing them by hand I'm sure. I put mine in one of those gauze type laundry bag things to protect the machine from the hooks and the bras from the machine, but hand wash?? never! not in a million years!!

Handwashing liquid is best. Ariel make one and all the major supermakets have their own slightly cheaper brands.

Use a special hand washing powder or liquid. And you only need the tiniest amount, then rinse them really well or else you'll feel itchy.

What I do is take mine in the shower and use Johnson's baby shampoo, works great! I read this in a magazine once.
After you wash it, roll it up in a towel to get the excess water out and hang them up.

I use my hand wash cycle on my washer and use normal washing powder. Don't wring them out, you have to let them drip when you hand wash. I lay mine flat to dry out of sunlight. Always reshape the cup when you lay flat to dry. If you have big cups, put a clean and dry wash cloth(rolled up) under each cup to help it stay in shape as it dries.

A liquid non-biological detergent. You don't need much.

very light detergent only. soak them in warm water for a while before you message the pads and rub the strings.

hang them up properly, either in its own shape with hangers or clip one side of the arm pit area so they will keep its shape during drying.

I find Bio-Tex is very good. It seems to keep the colours well.

Soap flakes are the best thing to use on your best, fanciest lace/silk bras. It's much gentler than washing machine detergent. Wash gently in cool water then rinse thoroughly and dry flat on a clean towel in the shade.

But who has the time to do that?

I just buy a lingerie bag (net bag to protect lacy delicates) and wash in a cold machine wash. That way the bras actually get worn. Otherwise they just sit in the washing basket for ever!

You might want to use liquid detergent and after don't let it sit in the water too long or it will start to lok warn out.
