You can use benedict' solution (Blue) to test if there is reduced sugar in the drink.
steps:
1. Put some sample of the drink and add 1 to 2 droppd of dilute HCl in the test tube , shake to make sure mix together.
2. Put 5-10 ml (in excess) benedict solution into the test tube.
3. Put the mixture in a hot water bath.
4. If reducing sugar (Glucose) is present, red precipitate (cu solid) will be formed.
Thoery:
When Cu2+ ion is reduced by glucose, it will turn into Cu+ ions which is the red precipitate you see.
