If a base is raised to a logarithm with the same base; (ex: a^loga x) it is equal to x. hence 5^log5 13 is 13

According to the definition of the log:
If a^b=c, b=log(base a)c

Now, let a be 5 and c be 13:

5^b = 13

b = log5 13

Thus, 5^(log5 13) = 13

If you are interested in learning logarithm you first learn these.

logM+logN=log(MN)
logM-logN=log(M/N)
nlogM=logM^n
