I do know that some 802.11b router can be firmware upgradable to support WPA. My question is that whether 802.11b receivers (include USB adapter, PCMCIA card, or even early Centrino notebooks) can be firmware upgradable to connect with 802.11g routers that are using WPA-PSK encryption?

It depends what router brand you are using... some of the older routers are upgradable... check the website to find out. What router are you using?

oh, I am sorry. I misinterpreted your question... WPA was introduced in 2003, and if those mentioned equipments are older than 2003, they are often not upgradable.
