1. a = 4b ------1
a+b = 45-----2
From (1),
b = a/4---------3
Sub(3)into(2)
a + (a/4) = 45
a(1/1/4) = 45
a = 36

2. let the two consecutive even no. be x, (x+2)
x + (x+2) = 46
2x +2 = 46
2x = 44
x = 22
Therefore, the two consecutive even no. is 22 and (22+2) = 24

3. let the no. of marbles in a smaller and a larger groups be x and y resp.
x + y = 60-----------1
7x = 3y---------------2
From (1),
y = 60-x-------------------3
Sub(3)into(2)
7x = 3(60-x)
7x = 180 - 3x
10x = 180
x = 18
therefore, the no. of marbles in the smaller group is 18

1.
1)a=4b b=a/4
2)a+b=45

2)a+a/4=45
4a+a=180
a=36

2.
Let the smaller no. be X and the larger no. be X+2
X+(X+2)=46
X+X+2=46
X=22

3.
Let the no. of mables in smaller group be X
7X=3(60-X)
7X=180-3X
10X=180
X=18
