bake cookies and wrap them really nice..
girls LOVE cookies : )
fun and creative!
okay, i was just thinking about the same thing and then i remembered about my cousin. and she was on the dancing team and they always gave gifts to each other and stuff, but anyways to the point. you can get like a cork bulletin board from like office depot and not the ones with the border around(like no metal or any border on it). they are kinda bendy and if you bend it to much it will break. but when you get the cork bulletin board get pretty ribbon and outline the edge of it and then get like glitter glue sticks and write her name in the top or where ever you prefer and then like decorate it. (AROUND THE NAME!) maybe polka dots?,, never go wrong there. and then last get some thumbtacks and make sure you don't decorate it to much because you wanna be able to have room for like pictures or notes or whatever.. and also put a picture of you on it with a thumbtack and (from, YOUR NAME 2007) SO she can never forget. (:
Go to Boots they are doing 3 for 2 on gift sets. You can get nail polish sets, lipstick sets, fcuk body stuff, or go to Body shop, they do nice gift sets. Impulse stuff? You can get them as cheap as £2.00 from Tesco.
what is she into right now?
See, my idea is to find out what she likes best, then give her a gift card for that specific interest.
Borders of Barnes and Noble cards for books about anything and everything under the sun
Is she into horses? Get her Horses magazine, or a gift card for free rides at a local stable
Is she into a specific movie star? Well, that's easy, get her things like posters, or even a movie she doesn't have.
Being on a tight budget is exactly why gift cards will work well, they can come in any denomination.
And one final question
does she just HAVE to have new?
Some of my favorite gifts were found used at garage sales, or online, at 1/2 or more the original price.
I, myself, can remember many times my mom scouring garage sales and things like that for toys or stuffed animals we kids wanted. And I never minded it, because I knew that my mom had really been trying, and sometimes, it was better than original. Because sometimes at garage sales, they have things one sale cheap, but with additional parts and things you never saw, or thought about.
it's the thought, not the price tag that counts.
(ok, I still want an easy bake....someday)
Trying not to advertise certain stores, but having 3 teenage daughters of my own, Asda/Tesco always have something girly, cheap but not cheap looking. Or, how about socks, or boxer-type girls pants from Primark, which my girls love at the moment. Small houseplant. Jewellery from somewhere like George (Asda again!). I'm sure whatever you buy will be loved, and it's the thought that counts.
Everyone loves sweets. Spend $10 to buy some baking supplies, maybe another $5 for containers or gift bags, and maybe $5 in case you forget something or you run out. Then, spend about 4 hours making cookies, and fudge, and brownies. Wrap them all up and voila!
Also, if you are buying/baking for some older people (aunts, uncles, etc.) they all like banana bread (or other flavors). Now I don't know how much it is in the UK, but in Kentucky, you can get a banana nut bread mix for 0.67Cents at your local grocery store. Then you just add milk and bake.
Here is one of my most popular gifts for everyone.
Homemade Reeses Peanut Butter Cup Candies
2 Cups Peanut Butter
1 Cup Powder Sugar
1 TBSP. Butter
1 Tsp. Vanilla
Mix this all together and roll into little balls about 1 tsp. of mixture each (should be about as big around as your thumb)
Next, combine 1 bag of chocolate chips with 1/2 bar of gulf wax in a double broiler to melt the chocolate and wax together.
Lastly, dip the peanut butter balls into the chocolate mix, and place on wax paper. After chocolate has hardened, place the candies in a container and place into the fridge.
Pretty Scented Candles are a good choice. But here in the US music download cards are tops!
hey girlie
You could get them a cheap(not junk though) perfume, nail polish set from OPI, hair accessories, makeup, treat them to a professional manicure/pedicure(might be to expensive though), notepad and pen set, what are they interested in though, maybe get them a movie or a CD
Decorations like candles are really nice
teddies are always nice. can just be mini ones. nothing too fancy.
you said you are a teen as well... you can buy whatever you like to your friend, duh??
