(1) uniform 的第一個音並非響音，而是 j
英文的拼音由原音vowels和輔音consonants組成，所有以原音開始的字才需要用an

(2)European的首音同樣是 j ，理由同上

拼音可以在字典中找到，通常置於本字的旁邊。

in the room 指在這間/那間房中
in a room 指在某一間房中

句子的意思是：在廳中有一張椅子。
「椅子」並無指定/特定的條件，任可椅子都符合描述，因此用 a
但「客廳」則是一個指定的地方，因此用 the

(uniform) is pronounced as [ju:] sound in the first syllable, which is not a vowel sound, many students confuse that with alphabet (a,e,i,o,u) these may have vowel sounds but not always.

if you understand why you use [an hour], because the [h] is silent, so it is a vowel sound, so you use [an].

European [ju:] same sound as uniform for the first syllable.

uniform的u後是n，便用 a ，而european 的e後是u，便用 an，因為兩個響音一起。
