Q1 Statistics of a recent HKAL Examination shows that 16200 candidates have met the minimum requiremements to enter university. This number made up 48% of the total number of candidates.
(b)If 52% of the female candidates have met the minimum requirememts to enter university,find the number of male candidates who met the minimum requirements.

(b) From (a), there are 15625 male candidates and 18125 female candidates.
No. of female candidates meeting minimum requirements
= 18125*52%
= 9425
Hence number of male candidates meeting the minimu requirements
= 16200 - 9425
= 6775
