升 起 、 假 如








Rise 和 raise 有 甚 麼 分 別 ？
Rise 、 raise 都 有 「 升 」 、 「 起 」 的 意 思 。 但 rise 是 不 及 物 動 詞 （ intransitive verb ） ， 不 可 有 受 詞 （ object ） ， 例 如 ： （ 1 ） Prices are rising rapidly （ 物 價 急 升 ） 。 （ 2 ） His voice rose as he got angry （ 他 怒 了 ， 說 話 也 大 聲 了 ） 。
Raise 則 是 及 物 動 詞 （ transitive verb ） ， 其 後 須 有 受 詞 ， 例 如 ： （ 1 ） The two supermarkets are raising prices all the time （ 那 兩 家 超 級 市 場 不 斷 加 價 ） 。 （ 2 ） He raised his voice as he got angry （ 他 怒 了 ， 提 高 聲 音 說 話 ） 。 有 時 ， 你 會 看 見 raise 作 不 及 物 動 詞 用 ， 例 如 說 The barrier raises when a car approaches （ 汽 車 開 近 ， 柵 欄 就 會 升 起 ） 。 但 這 不 是 正 規 用 法 ， 應 改 為 rises 。





此 外 ， 英 式 英 文 不 用 raise 作 名 詞 ， 美 式 則 用 ， 指 「 加 薪 」 ， 等 於 英 式 英 文 的 rise ， 例 如 ： The staff are expecting a raise / rise in salary （ 職 員 期 望 加 薪 ） 。
