The demand for bus is inelastic. It is because there is no close substitute. Bus has fixed bus stop. Other kinds of vehicles can not stop in the bus stop. People do not have the other choice of vehicles which can stop in the bus stop. As the percentage change in quantity is smaller than the percentage change in price, the revenue increased after the increased in price. Thus, the bus company does not face the same situation as taxi.

The demand for bus services is inelastic because there is no close substitute. People can only make choice of the bus company' service, providing a lot of fixed route bus stops for passangers as other kinds of vehicles are not allowed to stop at all the bus stops. As the percentage change in quantity is smaller than the percentage change in price, the revenue will increase after a rise in price. Therefore, the bus company doese not face the same situation as the taxi industry.

Hope this helps!
