我認為香港是一個文化沙漠,為什麼?
因為香港政府政策偏向經濟效益,
教育改革遲遲沒有做到,
香港普邏大眾都是講錢,
"No Money No Talk"

In my opinion, Hong Kong is a cultural desset.
The reason is that Hong Kong government strives on economic benefits only.
As a result, education reform does not get the attention it deserves and is not properly implemented even after a prolonged period of time.
Hong Kong people just talk of money only.
"No money no talk"

Everything circulates around money in the eyes of Hong-Kongers
They are short-sighted and lack of long term visions
Thereafter, Hong Kong students with good academic tracks give up their studies for earning money.

Compared with other developed cities in the world,
excluding comdies, pornographic materials and magazines,
Hong Kong has the lowest reading frequency.
It reflects the lack of interests of Hong Kongers in literacy.
In Hong Kong, writers can hardly publish their works if they do not make a profit.
Even if they do, the publisher's willingness to publish the work is still a big question.

In my opinion, I think Hong Kong is a cultural desert. Why? It was because the policy of Hong Kong government have deviated on economic benefits and the delay of the education reformation. Most of the Hong Kong residents are too concern about money, " No Money No Talk".

Money is most critical! Most of them will only strives for the short-term and are short on the long-term goal, therefore even if the students those have potential to study will also because of earning money to give up the studies.

Compare with Hong Kong people and other civilized national/metropolis comparisons, the average of each Hong Kong people's reading hobby per month are somewhat low (Exclusive comics, pornographic periodicals, magazine etc). It's totally reflected that the Hong Kong people is short of the interest on the culture matter. It is extremely difficult to publish a book in Hong Kong. You must have enough money to publish or whether any publish company is willing to help you to publish.
