朱古力廠製造商王卡衛，發出了五張幸運金卡，藏在朱古力巴內，五個幸運兒可憑卡進入15年來都未曾開放給人參觀的神奇朱古力廠。主角查理是生長於窮家的好孩子，住在朱古力廠側，自少就夢想可以進入這間朱古力神秘樂園，他與其他四個小孩終於夢想成真，得以進入前所未見的朱古力世界，並在王卡衛帶領下，經歷了一段滋味無窮的奇幻旅程。
