as well as = and 嗎?

雖然as well as和and都是以及的意思
但and帶出的名詞，與之前的名詞地位相等；但as well as所帶出的名詞，卻是附屬，並不屬於主詞的一部份，如：
Peter and Mary were jealous of him（彼得和瑪麗對他嫉妒）
但Peter ,as well as Mary, was jealous of him（彼得對他嫉妒，瑪麗也是一樣）
請留意第一句用and時，動詞用複數形were，因為主詞是Peter和Mary這兩人；而第二句動詞用單數形的was，因為主詞只是Peter一人。

you can understand them in this way:
'and' is similar to 'plus' (e.g. apple and banana = two fruits, apple plus banana = two friuts)
However, 'as well as' is similar to 'yet'
It is used when you want to describe two things are Similar (i.e. they have same feature or function)~!
