The sum of two numbers is 57. If the larger of the two numbers is 9 less than twice the smaller , find the two numbers

the larger of the two numbers is 9 less than twice the smaller
(57-Y)+9=2Y
57-Y+9=2Y
66=3Y
Y=22
so the smaller numbers is 22
the larger numbers is 35
